9001
SHRINE
Glorifying 9001, creator of copyparty - the file server that saved spaced from the nightmare of configuring a NAS and sudo apt-get'ing into oblivion.
The Legend
Once upon a time, spaced tried to set up a NAS. It went about as well as you'd expect. Apt broke. Configs sprawled. Spaced's phone screen - already water-damaged - lagged in despair at 12 FPS.
Then 9001 created copyparty.
A file server so simple, so elegant, so portable - it runs on anything with a network stack. Spaced's NAS was retired. Apt was restored. And the phone screen? Well, it still lags. But at least the files transfer at full speed.
Why Copyparty Is Peak
01 Zero NAS Configuration Required
spaced's apt is safe (for now). No fstab, no SMB, no three-day debug spiral.
02 Built-in Web UI
Drag. Drop. Done. Remembering rsync flags is so 2023.
03 Runs on Anything
Linux, Windows, Mac - even spaced's toaster, probably.
04 No Database, No Docker, No Headache
One binary. Zero containers. Infinite peace of mind.
05 4K Streaming Directly from Disk
No transcoding, no buffering. Just pure, unadulterated data at wire speed.
06 It Just Works
In 2025, a file server that just works is revolutionary. 9001 made it look easy.
Saved Files
A curated selection of files that copyparty has safely ferried across the digital abyss.
For Spaced
This section loads at 0.5 FPS in solidarity with spaced's water-damaged phone screen. We see you, paced.
